Weapons of mass destruction have many negative consequences. This source makes world situation decline in some many aspects, social, economical and cultural. One of the facts why mass destruction weapons can’t do any good for the world is the violation of the basic right that we all have, live.
According to Irak solidarity in a analysis about the violation of human rights they suffer last time an war some of the violation they had were: murders, tortures and bad healthy situations. Irak is just an example. Also for the country good, the government promotes in people the idea of war, knowing that is something morally wrong. People ddying every day because of the law overage of allows jobs and the bad educational situation just gets worst in a country with resources that are destiny to pay weapons production and wars campains. “Not having an army made us grow in economy education, health, social security, nature protection, allowed us spend in economy develop”. This is the situation of Costa Rica maybe we are not the most powerful country but we are developing our country with the sources that in other countries are used to war and weapons.

Causes of poverty and how aliand ways to alleviate it

Povery is a social problem that affects all the world. In every country, and in every continent, no matter how rich and develop it is, always, there`s a small porcentage of the countries that have economic problems. It is a constant fight that doesn `t give a chance to rest, because every second, a child, and adult people die because of poverty, because this people don`t have even the ways of have the basic things for survive.
There`s people working arroun the world, all the time just for looking, information, and ways for end this problem. For me, this is an educational problem. If all the countries were also worried about with the illiteracy the things were completly different.
Noruega for example, or Suecia, are two of the most developed countries in Europe. The rates of illiteracy are almost in zero. Almost all the people there, have a good job, good develop opportunities. People in this countries have similar social status, and that`s why they live so good, and these two countris are the best ones to go to live and find a good pay job, and good, laboral, economical and development opportunities.
That`s why I thing that in education is the key to change things about poverty in Costa Rica and the rest of the world, because there are two countries that are the living prove of this tesis.

First, I want to be grateful with you for taking the time to organize the activity of last Wednesday and then I have some observations to make.
The activity was very disorganized and crowded. A lot of people didn`t knew what was the activity about, and even the person who has to talk at the activity didn`t knew that was for all public so not only for the ones from education.
Sadly I think that, when an activity is not well organized time and money is wasted and is a shame that people like you, that are always thinking in a way for making us rise in many knowledge ways lose your time too for bad organization and comunication.
I think that this kind of activities must continue but with more communication and better organized because all the extra information that we can catch from people with advances degrees in others areas is going to help us in our growing as a professionals and as human beings.

Inmigration advantages

The inmigration is a situation that is almost in every country. Most of the times, we hear that word, and fast we have big quantity of bad thougs. We must be objectives and have the capacity of see, that it has a lot of advantages and disadvantages.
For example, we can learn and got culture and customs from other countries, like food, music, dances, etc. Also a lot of the people that come to our country do it looking for a job and opportunities for get some money. They are an important part of the base of our economy, because they do all the jobs that no body wants to do, for example, picking coffee, house works that no body wants to to do because, are low money value.
A lot of inmigrants come here, work hard and with their own busissnes, they create new work sources. Also a lot of inmigrants make wonderful things that make proud their new country. Like in every situation there are some pros, and contras. It is up to you, if you want to see the good things or the bad ones.

Globalization

Globalization is when something becomes the same thing for all the world.
Globalization sometimes, in some many aspects can be great. Some of the advantages of the globalization is that we can cut distances, access to exotic and new things, access to information in quiantity, quality and diversity, easier trading.
Globalization help us, to have common things like the conservation of resources, evolution, energy, we can share similar ideas and use them all in the same way to help some one, or for a good cause.
Globalization also has contas; some changes that imply the globalization must beAbsorbed / controlled / facilitated for the governments because if not, they concern vulnerable sectors of the population it can provoke loss of "identity"And some rituals, customs, and N elements of culture get lost. Also, the consumption of resources can become untenable, in sectors that produce for bought increasingly markets; for example, for globalization, a producer can "flood" a market with cheap products, and the local producers fail; so thi can produce a big problem in small countries with small economies.
Globalization is a double edge weapon, that if we use it in a proper way, it can help us a lot, but if not, can destroy us.

Globalization diseases

H1N1 and west nile Virus are two famous globalization diseases. H1N1 was the bomb last year all over the world, adn Costa Rica wasn`t the exception. On April 2009 the cases od H1N1 in Costa Rica were near to 60.”20 of wich were discarted following a laboratory analysis”
Even the Costa Rican`s president Oscar Arias Sánchez, has been infected with the H1N1 virus commonly know as “the swine flu”. “Arias fell in on Saturday (august 2009) complaining of a sorethroat and temperature” Presidental minister, Rodrigos Arias said.
Also there`s the west Nile virus that according to CC is a flavovirus commonly found in Africa, west of Asia and the middle east. It is commonly found in Africa, west Asia and the middle East.
It is commonly know because it infects the neurosystem in a person and it is of easy transmition, because the transmition vector is a mosquito.
These three sideades are just examples of how akso diseases can be cosmopolitan and why all must be concern about the prevention programs and not only in our country if not arround the world, because the fact of not haveng and endemic disease don`t give us the security of not having one later.

Ethnic Conflicts

In many countries and many periods a person’s ethnic identity has had profound consequences for his or her physical safety, political status, and economic prospects. Violent confrontation along ethnic lines is the most apparent form of ethnic conflict, and it recently has claimed lives in such diverse places throughout the world. The three most terrible ethnic conflicts have been the conflict in Rwanda, the Arab-Israeli crisis, and The Holocaust during World War II.
One important ethnic conflict was the Hutu and the Tutsi conflict in Rwanda. There are two major ethnic groups in this African country: the Hutu and the Tutsi. When the country was colonized by the Belgians in 1916 they claimed that the Tutsi were superior to the Hutu based on the idea that their skins were lighter and their features more European. As a result, The Hutus suffered years of repression by the Tutsi. In 1994, the Hutus took revenge. Tutsi people were slaughtered, hunted out of their homes, killed with guns or machetes and left to die on the road by unofficial militia group called the Interahamwe (‘those who attack together’) and Hutu civilians were forced to murder their neighbors and children were not spared in an insane effort to wipe out the next Tutsi generation. Over 800,000 Rwandans were killed in the space of 100 days.
The other important confict we know about is the Arab-Israeli crisis. The conflict Arab-Israeli is that one between the State of Israel and his Arabic neighbors, especially the Palestinians. The possible solutions are a matter of permanent debate, and the problems that it includes change with the time. now a days, the principal questions are the sovereignty of the Gaza strip and West Bank, the eventual formation of a Palestinian State in the above mentioned areas, the status of the oriental part of Jerusalem, of the Golan Heights and of Shebaa's Farms, the destination of the Israeli accessions and of the Palestinian refugees, Israel's recognition and Palestine and of his right to exist and live in peace sheltered by threats and acts of force, as well as Israel's relation with Syria and the Lebanon. Nowadays Israel has in force agreements of peace with Egypt and Jordan that they guarantee his pacific conviviality.
Amd finally, but not less important the jewish holocaust. This conflic happened in the IIWW because of the germany hate to all the ones they belived were different and inperects. They wanted to create a superior race, according to their bauty and perfection standar, and of course, jewish, gays and black people, weren`t abñe to be part of this that they called perfection.
Ethnic conflicts such as in Rwanda, the Arab-Israeli crisis, and The Holocaust during World War II triggered the worst feelings a human being can have. Any country or society can go through such terrors. Different religion, race, and beliefs are not good reasons to kill each other. It depends on new generations not to repeat the terrible crimes against humanity committed in different times and places.

Big Mike`s life

Big Mike`history is one od the most beautiful and nice movies I have seen. Figth, hope, love are some of the values we can see in this movie, and how a family change this boy`s life.
Michael`s life changed a lot in some many aspects; family, education, social status, health and sports habits. All this changes were posible for the love, and the god feeling of a complete family, but more from Leigh Anne Tuohy. She and her family decided to open the doors of their house to this street boy, with out recieving anything in change.
Michael`s used to live in a house of a mechanic who helped him to got in to a christian school. He didn`t know almost nothing about the courses he was taking, and the teachers didn`t have any hope about his progress and learning skills.
Since he lived with the Tuohy he started to develop his learning and social skills. The teachers discovered that he wasn`t stupid, he just had a dofferent way of learning. He improved his scores as much as he could be at the footbal team.
When he lived at the streets and with his mother, he was with a drugs and violence atmosphere, this probably affected him until became him in a retracted guy , with any social habilities and psicologycal problems.
Once he was recieved for Tuohy family he started to be a more social and afective person, he learned what was to have a family, to have friends, and to use his protective instincts not only for help other people, also for football games, and that´s how started his succesful in life.
Michael did`t have any material thing,even an identification card; no clothes, no games, no family, no
Room. His new family gave him all that and more, his life style changed in a way he would never thoug. He received a name, education, material goods, and the best of al, love and education.
This history is the best example, of how if people uses the resources and the facilities to help others who need help, people can do amazing things, and how, out there, there`s people who only needs a push to do amazing and wonderful things in live... is just detachment what we need in this selfish world.

GLOBAL WARMING

1. Global warming is a problem that has been increasing every day for our bad use of resourses we have.
2. Some of the concecuenses are: animals are dissapearing, ice masses are melting, ozone cap is desapearing amd so on.
3. The concern about this topic is becoming each time bigger, however, there are so many countries who are doing someting to change the situation.
4. some of the mainsures the first world countries are taking, are the ones who have with our country; example, they buy to us air. 5. And how is that? 6. They pay every year a generous quantity of money in exchange of Costa Rica let some extensions of land only for seed of any quantity of trees.
7. Also, they give donations of money for research. 8. The inconvenient with this solutions is that they are almost useless.
8. Most of the times, the money that they send every time, is not use in the way it should, so money almost always “get lost” and so the cause too.
9. There is also an Agreement that G8 countries sign for the care and no production of CO2
10. Some others, take Initiative in their hands trying to do a change. 10. Al Gore is a example.
11. He is the producer of the famous documental an inconvenient truth. 11. In this documental, he shows to the world all the things are happening with our world for climate changes.
12. This makes people reflect about problems we are creating, but there`s still alot to do.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

1.We live in a country where at mundial level, we are catalogated as tha happiest country in the world.
2. When i saw that in the news y though, what about all the crimes that are in the tv news and the news papers about domestic violence.
3. Where is that average of women that are every day been hitten by theirs husbands... they are far away of being the happiest women in the world.
4.Costa Rica has always being a country where the men are being raising with cheavinism examples, and those are the results of what we got.
5. unfurtunately women are also doing agressions with theirs husbands, like a case i know.
6. Miriam is a Nicaraguan women who lives near my house and works for us.
7. she is Oscar´s couple, who suffers physical and emotional agression. 8. He also some times do the same with her emotionally but, not as she does.
9. Nobody says anything about it, for not getting envolved. 10. This makes the situation very sad, because we know that in any moment, something worst is gonna happen.
11. This situation cannot continium that way, and just with education we can make the change, and is gonna be in that moment that all those who are envolved in this kind of situation are gona be part of the happy ones of Costa Rica.

Gay marriage

GAY MARRIAGE

The legalization of homosexual marriage is an act of justice that recognizes the right of the citizens of choosing their sexual orientation, without being neither discriminated nor diminished by it, and it recognizes the homosexual pairs the same right to have a family with the same rules and benefits that the heterosexual ones have.
It constitutes a great advance towards the slow, irreversible acceptance of the homosexuality as a perfect, natural and legitimate manifestation of the human diversity.
People, who are in groups against gay marriage, always use the same weak arguments; like the desfiguration and the ending of the heterosexual marriage as an institution because of the gay one; if we research we will find.that for example for 2005, 60% of the heterosexual marriages in the US ended in divorce. Also in Spain for each 3 marriages, they have 2 divorces; so, with this information, we can conclude that the gay marriage is already obsolete and won`t influence in a good or bad way the heterosexual marriage; because it is already damaged.
Also the argument of the adoption says that a couple of the same sex can not rise children, because they are gonna rise them with problems and with wrong ideas about men a women relationships. The problem with this argument is that there are a lot of cases of children, even here in Costa Rica, that live with homosexual couples and they live better than some others in a “normal”(heterosexual) family.
Here in Costa Rica, for example, we have the case of a child that lives with a transexual; who rises him because his mother didn`t take care care of him when he was born. This is just an example of our reality in CR, and not the only one case to support the argument of the adoption.
There are also some studies from the Pediatry American Children Academy that were done with some lesbian couples and men couples that found out that the children that were born or adopted by a couple of the same sex, , deserve that their parents have the same legal and civil rights like the ones of the heterosexual parents .To justify such affirmation, the Academy was specifying: "A sufficient number of studies suggest that the children of homosexual parents have the same advantages and expectations of health, adjustment and development that the children of heterosexual couples have"
And that’s not all, lets figure out about all the children that were left, that will have better opportunities having a family. Why not to give them the opportunity if a gay couple can do it, and maybe better than a heterosexual couple does.
It is also said that children in this kind of marriages are gonna be predisposed to a gay orientation, thinking that this orientation is normal and better. This argument is wrong because even in traditional families, with all the facilities that we have today, internet, TV, and in general every mass meas of communication, the idea of the homosexuality is becoming more a more popular and acepted.
Homosexual orientation is something that has existed since the begining of the times, the only one difference that we have now, is that people worry more about the respect of the sexual diversity, and the respect of the rigths of others to choose their sexual orientation. Mankind mind has changed about slavery, racism and woman descrimination and so must be about homosexual legal union.
